BEYOND THE CODE

When I'm not writing systems
that think, I'm out finding places that do.

WHAT KEEPS ME ALIVE OUTSIDE WORK

A few things I do obsessively.

Hiking

Mountains are the only place I find the same clarity I get from a well-designed system. The goal is obvious. The path is not. I've trekked the Himalayas, and I'm always planning the next one.

🎸

Guitar

I play often enough to improve slowly, poorly enough to stay humble. There's something in tracing why a chord progression doesn't resolve that feels a lot like debugging. I do it anyway.

📷

Photography

Mostly landscapes and light. I moved from phone shots to something more deliberate — paying attention to what a scene looks like before I frame it, rather than after.

🧭

Wandering

Buddhist temples in Mussoorie, rooftop sessions in the hills, random detours with no agenda. Some of my best ideas arrived in places I had no reason to be.

✈️

Aviation

Avgeek through and through. I track flights, read accident reports, and could talk about aerodynamics, airspace, or aircraft design for hours. There's something deeply satisfying about how much engineering, precision, and trust goes into getting a metal tube airborne and keeping it there.
